Wheatley Summer 10
“Just wanted to say thank you for an amazing event on Sunday - I enjoyed it tremendously (although not so much at the time!) Great atmosphere, meticulous organisation and attention to detail with a superdooper band of marshalls - what more could we ask for? ........ a couple of near-misses but even I didn’t get lost (and that is something I am really good at!) So, well done you, and if these legs of mine don’t drop off, who knows I might give it a go next year.”
Dukeries 30
“Many thanks to you and everyone who helped out on the Dukeries event. I entered the 30 hoping to break 7hrs 30mins and nearly broke 7hrs (failed by 3mins!!). Everyone was so friendly and supportive: I'm a jogger and walker rather than a runner, but everyone helped me along. I didn't enter the 40 as I was worried that I would not be able to beat the cut-off time; but I now know that I'll be entering the 40 next year!! Once again many thanks for such a great day.”
Waterway 30
“Thank you to you and your brilliant team/marshalls for putting on a thoroughly enjoyable event. The course was even more beautiful than I expected and really well marked. So much more enjoyable and less harsh on the body than pounding tarmac for 26.2 miles. The food and drink stations were a real treat and new experience because not done an ultra before.”
Dukeries 40
“I wanted to say a big thank you for the awesome Dukeries 40. I ran it with my husband and we both really enjoyed the course, and the enthusiastic volunteers! It was our first ultra (having done marathons before) and it won't be our last! You put on a great event, all went well and we'll be recommending it and maybe come back again next year! You must have spent ages with the ribbons and pink dots - it all helped greatly although I almost missed one though, lack of concentration (my fault)! The personalised medals were a nice touch too. I'm thinking about moving up to the 100 miles but will see how the summer's training goes!”
Waterway 30
“A gem of an ultra. Travelling frequently for more than 90 miles to compete in trail marathons, what a dream I thought upon hearing that the inaugural Waterway 30 was to be held within the local area. Whilst the trails at times sapped your strength, the scenery and tranquility more than made up for it. From the stillness of the Chesterfield Canal to freshly ploughed fields on the Trent Valley Way, I found comfort, whilst being fortunate, to be in such inspiring locations. A great source of inspiration and a willingness to keep moving was provided by the ever enthusiastic volunteers on the check points.”
Dukeries 30
“Just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing event on Saturday. For my friend and I it was our first ultra event and what an amazing time we had and we have now decided that ultra running is for us. We particularly enjoyed the fact that despite the amazing organization and support the event still remained quite low key. The friendliness of marshalls, other runners and yourself was second to none. We were amongst those that shed a tear when we crossed the finish line, very proud of our achievement. Our aim is to return next year to tackle the 40 miles and we are very much looking forward to it already. Many thanks again to your nan and to you for all your hard work and enthusiasm. See you next year.”
